Shaping the Future, Together –  We are looking for new graduates and interns to start a career with one of the fastest-growing firms in the Southeast. American Engineering is hiring in our Charlotte, Raleigh, and Chesapeake offices.

  • Civil Engineering
  • Transportation
  • Landscape Architecture & Land Planning
  • Surveying

We have reasonable expectations and assume our new grads and interns join the company with little or no design experience. Our experienced technical professionals are engaged, every day, providing guidance to our new teammates.

Our American Academy training program provides a structure and milestones. Staff have a clear path and a matrix of skills they will learn during their first few years. Our senior experts provide daily hands-on mentoring to help our new grads and interns learn more quickly.

An important part of the American Academy program is our First Friday construction site visits. On the first Friday of each month, junior design staff, accompanied with a senior expert, visit the project sites we designed to see the construction process. This provides invaluable insights and helps our new design professionals understand the impact of design decisions.

Outstanding Benefits Package

American Engineering is Unique

We understand not every new grad knows exactly what they want to do or how they want their career to evolve. At American Engineering you won’t get stuck in one group or doing one type of design. Our design teams work collaboratively which provides technical professionals experience with different types of projects and all elements of a project design. This helps foster well-rounded technical teammates.

There is no limit to how fast someone can grow – in responsibility, technical expertise, or compensation. Unlike many of our competitors, we provide regular salary increases, annual bonuses, and paid overtime, including for salaried professionals.
