We are currently searching for civil engineers in our Virginia Beach and Charlotte offices to support our growing backlog of work supporting our clients in retail, commercial, residential, infrastructure and industrial markets. Our ideal candidate would have at least 4 to 8 years of hands-on design experience, strong CADD skills, good communications skills and a client service focus.
Our preferred candidate has strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, a Bachelors in civil engineering or similar degree is required. Depending on skills and experience this position could serve as a Senior Engineer and / or Project Manager on these projects. A PE is not required, but the ability to obtain is highly preferred.
We are currently hiring transportation engineers for our Charlotte office to support our growing transportation/infrastructure department. Our ideal candidate would have at least 2 to 5 years of hands-on design experience, strong MicroStation experience, good communications skills, and a client service focus.
A Bachelors in civil engineering or similar degree is required. A PE is not required, but the ability to obtain is highly preferred. Experience with NCDOT projects or large municipal clients is a plus.
We are looking for Civil Engineering graduates to start a career with American Engineering in our Virginia Beach and Charlotte offices.

Our ideal candidate would have 8-10 years of design experience, strong CADD skills, and a good communication and client service focus. A BS in civil engineering or similar degree is required. Depending on skills and experience this position could serve as a Project Manager on projects.
American Engineering Associates is currently looking for a Survey Rodman and Instrument Person to work with our survey group located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Will work primarily in the field as an instrument man on a one, two or three-person field crew assisting Party Chief in completing field surveys by collecting data using GPS equipment, Robotic Total Station or conventional surveying equipment. May need to perform data reduction, field note reduction, or calculations.
Will be required to perform manual labor such as cutting and clearing brush and undergrowth for line of sight, digging or shoveling. Be able to read and understand deeds, plats, sketches and construction drawings. Know basic sources of measurement errors. Drive stakes to set grades on construction projects, search for property corners and survey points. Hold and plum rod in obtaining elevations and distances. Will train on site, but must be experienced in controlling the function of surveying instruments and calculators. Perform all other duties that may be assigned. Regularly walk, stand, crouch or stoop. Carry equipment up, down and across irregular terrain. Walk over rough, uneven or slippery surfaces.
Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
