American Engineering Acquires Engineering Services, Inc.

 
South Norfolk Jordan BridgeCharlotte, N.C. — American Engineering Associates – Southeast, PA (American Engineering) and Engineering Services, Inc., have signed a definitive agreement through which American Engineering has acquired the assets of the Virginia Beach-based company. Through the acquisition, American Engineering adds an engineering and survey operation which started in the Virginia Beach area in 1974. Over its 40 year history, Engineering Services, Inc. has established itself as one of the premier design and survey firms in the Hampton Roads area. “Engineering Services, Inc., will be a great addition to our team,” said Scott D. Stone, PE, managing principal of Charlotte-based American Engineering. “We are excited to be able to add an office in the growing Hampton Roads area and expand our services to now include surveying.” “After four decades of serving our clients well, we were able to find a partner with the same core values,” stated W. Peter Burkhimer, P.E., Engineering Services, Inc. principal. “We know that American Engineering shares our focus on client service and technical excellence.”

Engineering Services, Inc. has proudly led the design of many of the area’s most recognizable projects. Pete Burkhimer plans to stay in a leadership role with the company for several years following the transition.
