American Engineering assisted with the site plan for the new Chesapeake residential care facility.

The Elder’s House celebrated its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House August, 24th at 860 Bells Mill Road, Chesapeake, VA.

In 1907 seven men built the original church where The Elder’s House now sits. Fast forward to 2018 now this same piece of land will provide a brand-new home for eight young men to live. The young boys will be between the ages of 12-18. The hopes are that the young men will reside here until completion of high school.

The $900,000 residential care facility is designed to look like a normal home in the neighborhood. The architects helped come up with the concept of the name. Instead of the young men living there having to tell people they live at a residential care facility. They will have a sense of normalcy, by saying. “I live at Elder’s House!” stated by Bishop Kim Brown.
