Gravity Sewer and Water Main Replacement

 

Indian River Estates Gravity Sewer and Water Main Replacement | Chesapeake, VA

American Engineering (then Engineering Services) was issued a task order to prepare construction plans and to provide contract administration services for the replacement of 16,900 linear feet (LF) of gravity sewer within the Indian River Estates neighborhood.  The sewer system was failing and in immediate need of replacement.

At the same time, the city was in the process of purchasing the private utility water provider (Aqua Virginia) who supplied the water within Indian River Estates. Once Aqua Virginia was purchased, American Engineering was issued another task order to provide design services for 10,200 LF of water mains within Indian River Estates.  The work area included approximately 336 properties served by the existing water (Aqua Virginia) and sewer (City of Chesapeake) systems.
