Water Main Replacements | Yorktown, VA
American Engineering was tasked to design the replacement of 10,000 LF of separate domestic and fire water mains with a new combined, single main 12-inch water main for the USCG Training Center in Yorktown, VA.
During modeling of the water main replacement, it was determined that a water booster pumping station would need to be needed. As a result, the project scope was changed to include the design of the new water booster pumping station. We completed the following tasks:
- Hydraulic modeling of the entire facility for both domestic and fire scenarios
- Design of a new water booster pumping station
- Performed supplemental topographic surveys of the project area
- Prepared construction plans including material specifications and construction details
- Provided construction stakeout
- Prepared construction record drawings using surveyed data for the as-built water main
